Life as an opera singer

I have been learning Peking Opera (京剧) performance, particularly School of Mei (梅派), under Master Zhiyi Wang (王志怡) since I was 14 years old. I have also learnt from Master Baojiu Mei (梅葆玖), Fengshan Jiang (姜凤山), and Tieben Wang (王铁本). I also benefited a lot from my sisters and brothers in art. I won the first prize at the Seventh Annual Peking Opera Singing Competition of Universities in China in the year of 2009. As a member of the Tsinghua Student Art Group, I gave a tour performance in the United States in 2010. I joined the New York Chinese Opera Society and have started performing in the US since 2015. I became the principle performer at the Chinese Kwun Opera Society in 2019.

Starting in 2019, I am under training advised by Mr. Qilong Bao (包起龙). My Kwun Opera performance is mainly trained by Wenyi Hua(华文漪) and Henry Chang (张厚衡).

Until 2023, I have given more than 100 performances in Peking Opera and Kwun Opera.

My next scheduled performance will be in February, 2024, at Huntington Library in San Marino, CA.
